Juman Malouf *1975 in Beirut, Lebanon. Lives and works in London and New York.

Malouf is a multifaceted artist, encompassing roles as a costume designer, illustrator and author. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Brown University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art and Art History. Later, she pursued further education at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she attained a Master of Fine Arts degree in set and costume design. Following her academic pursuits, Malouf ventured into the realm of fashion, establishing her knitwear line Charlotte Corday. Concurrently, she embarked on her literary journey, publishing her children’s fantasy novel, “The Trilogy of Two”, with Pushkin Press in 2018. Throughout the approximately six years spent crafting the trilogy, Malouf also collaborated on the cinematic projects of her partner, the esteemed director, Wes Anderson, whom she met in 2009. Notably, these collaborations spanned acclaimed films such as “The Grand Budapest” and “Moonrise Kingdom”. Additionally, she contributed her voice to a character in Anderson’s “Fantastic Mr. Fox”. Together, Malouf and Anderson curated the exhibition “Spitzmaus Mummy in a Coffin and other Treasures”, at the Naturhistorisches Museum, Vienna, which was later published as a book. This occasion also led to the creation of the edition “Spitzmaus Mummy in a Coffin” in collaboration with Zein Editions.
