Jan Jedlička, *1944 in Prague, lives and works in Switzerland, Czech Republic and Italy.
After his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts (1962-1968) in Prague and the crushing of the Prague Spring, Jan Jedlička fled to Switzerland, where he managed the art and restoration studio at the Kunstmuseum Winterthur (1980-2007). At the same time, he turned to the Italian Avantgarde and began to deal with the classic theme of landscape. His oeuvre is strongly influenced by experiences in nature, as expressed on the one hand in his sedimentation-paintings and on the other hand in large-format heliogravures, in which photographs are broken up into a rarely nuanced and textured surface.
