Sophia Süssmilch,*1983 in Dachau, lives and works in Vienna and Munich.

Sophia Süssmlich deals with the topics of femininity, body awareness and self-determination in a humorous but also disturbing way. In her colourful, idiosyncratic imagery the boundaries between painting, sculpture, performance and kitsch get blurred. Süssmilch repeatedly uses humor as an escapist means to open up another space for thought within her art. The unembellished staging of her own body and the examination of the taboo subject of shame give the artist a special position within her generation.
