TOMAK, *1970 in St. Veit an der Gölsen, Lower Austria. Lives and works in Vienna.

Under his pseudonym, TOMAK developed an alter ego and brand which polarizes and provokes. He regards himself as an antist, as an anti-artist. Particularly in his performative interventions and texts he opposes political correctness and uniformity. In often large-format oil paintings and screen prints, TOMAK uses the abstraction of the medical and technical to capture psychological states. Getting under the skin, the presented anatomical studies or mechanical construction plans gain a deeper, personal meaning, because “everything you want to grasp objectively, must inevitably fail”, notes TOMAK.
