Julia Faber, *1984 in Vienna, lives and works in Vienna.

The subject of Julia Faber’s hyper-realistic paintings are body formations, such as those depicted in illustrations of physical education regulations from 19th century’s textbooks, as well as the development of robotics and current human optimization efforts. With shockers, intended to overwhelm the recipient, Julia Faber exhausts past and contemporary gender stereotypes and reveals the rules of taste of an overly sexualized, body-obsessed society with unsparing irony.
