Franz Hubmann *1914 in Lower Austria, Austria. † 2007 at the age of 82.

Hubmann was a photographer and a photojournalist, initially perusing it as a mere hobby. However, after World War II, his passion flourished into a distinguished career. In 1946, he furthered his skills by attending the Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in Vienna. His profession spanned over six decades, capturing everyday life in cities such as Vienna, Paris, Hamburg and New York. Hubmann’s lens focused not only on the ordinary but also on the extraordinary, as he documented the lives and works of internationally renowned artists like Andy Warhol, Picasso and Maria Lassnig, among others. He published around 80 picture books delving into contemporary, historical and ethnological subjects. In addition to his photographic endeavors, Hubmann ventured into television production, creating 17 television series for ORF during the 1960s and 1970s. Through his lens and television productions, he was able to capture moments in time and share them with audiences worldwide, leaving an enduring legacy in the world of photography and storytelling.
